An opportunity is available for an experienced and inspiring Head of Children’s Production to join the talented, passionate, dedicated ABC Children’s production team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and organisation of content development and production across the ABC’s radio, television, and digital services for children, ensuring it operates in accordance with the ABC’s vision and values.

Reporting to the Director of Entertainment & Specialist and leading the Children’s production team to build engagement, drive motivation and achievement, you will:
Work collaboratively to set the vision and strategy for original children’s content production across radio, television and digital services
Develop and commission programs for ABC children’s platforms and other third-party platforms, as deemed part of the strategy
Achieve audience goals in quantitative and qualitative measures; and
Contribute to the overall strategy & positioning of the ABC as Australia’s leading multiplatform & multi-channel broadcaster.
With the ability to develop and implement a strategic vision through effective and inspiring leadership, you will bring:
Extensive knowledge and understanding in program production and/or broadcasting
Strong experience as a programmer, curator, program commissioner, or producer
A track record in identifying innovative and engaging projects, both at script stage and completed, as well as new and emerging talent; and
A demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the role of public broadcasting.

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the CEO you will provide leadership and direction whilst driving commercial outcomes and strategic requirements across the organisation. This role has responsibility for the quality, efficiencies and effectiveness of new and existing projects for the group with particular emphasis on people, product and process.

Working as part of the executive leadership team you will work closely with other executives as well as your team to ensure continued success of the organisation.

You will also have an understanding or prior senior level experience within a Television Network and or Broadcast Production House.
