What do I need to be good at?
Following orders! And a bit of TV production. You need to be well organised, quick to learn, technical and also a little bit creative as well. If you can write then that’s an added bonus
What you’ll do
Work in PROMOS department at Network TEN in Pyrmont.
You’ll be the person who makes sure the finished promos get to on air. (No pressure)

You’ll also be involved in:
Writing and producing line ups and next promos (those things you see on the telly that tell you what’s on tonight)
Book voiceover talent and book in audio sessions
AVID media management, technical stuff like deletion, archiving and file management
Answering constant technical questions from creative people who can sometimes be a little demanding
Other technical and boring stuff but hey you have to start somewhere
What you’ll bring to the table
Great attitude. You need to be someone who also says YES no problem.
A strong technical and editing understanding. If you know AVID then that will help
Strong work ethic. You need to be self-starter and someone who is proactive.
If you have writing skills as well then YAY for you!

Promo Producer

We’re looking for a Promo Producer to join our Lifestyle Channels team on a Maternity Leave Cover and create amazing TV promos that will engage audiences and capture the Lifestyle brand.

Your purpose

As a Promo Producer, you will work across 3 on-air LifeStyle Channel brands and the LifeStyle digital and social portal, taking briefs from the Head of Creative and translating them into the kind of ads that really showcase our content and brand. You’ll be part of amazing campaigns that have high visibility, including some of our locally produced Lifestyle content.

On a daily basis, you’ll be involved in:
Taking briefs and promo allocations, viewing the content, writing scripts, identifying key shots, angles and music to be used.
Presenting promo ideas for approval – taking feedback to ensure promos are going to be as creative, entertaining and on-brand as possible – reworking the promo idea until it’s ready to go into production.
Editing the promo using AVID and then working with channel graphic teams as well as post production teams, audio and editing, to oversee the creation of the final version(s).
Ensuring Promos are ready for final approvals and delivered for ingest/transmission within agreed timeframes.
Participating in channel meetings – suggesting new ideas for how content can be promoted.
Devising ideas for graphics with the channel design team.

Your capability

You will need to be a good editor, either by gift or experience. You need to be able craft an engaging story in pictures, words, music or sound design. Oh, and you’re an AVID whiz.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a promo producer, ideally with time spent in a subscription television environment
You need to be able to write good, punchy copy. You need to get into the audience’s head and charm the pants off them.
You need to have a good conceptual mind. Translate crazy thoughts into cohesive, on-brand creative.
You must have an innate understanding of brand. Know how to bounce off the walls within the confines of a tight brand

The position is for an Assistant Promos Producer. The role requires a high attention to detail and AVID editing skills is an advantage.

As an Assistant Promo Producer you will assist producers in all aspects of promo production and be responsible for writing line-ups, finalising promo spots, archiving promos and ensuring they arrive in transmission.

Although this role is quite administrative and technical, for the right person it can be the first step to becoming a creative producer.

Preferred applicants will be advertising award school graduates/ film school graduates with the ability to demonstrate outstanding skills in writing, especially conceptually.
