Publicity Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and driven publicity assistant to join our busy Melbourne team. Reporting to the Head of Publicity and Marketing, this role will be key support function to the entire Publicity team and you will play a key role in assisting with all local publicity activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Providing support for incoming media inquiries and answering requests
Liaising with media to coordinate interviews and shoots
Compiling daily reports on publicity achieved
Maintaining media and stakeholder lists
Preparation and distribution of media releases and imagery
Liaising with talent as required and assisting to coordinate appearances
Working with the publicity team to assist with interview schedules
Accompanying talent when required to interviews and photographic shoots
Coordinating media events and launches
Booking travel for talent and staff
Coordinating programming tools for program launches
Maintaining content and access to Nine’s Media Room
General administrative duties
Assisting the publicity team as required

About you

Ideally with a degree in journalism, communications or public relations, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar PR role. Possessing highly developed communication and writing skills and the ability to build strong relationships with media and talent, you will have a strong understanding of the media landscape. We need a positive self-starter who has the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced and often changing environment. You will require excellent computer skills, high attention to detail, diplomacy, and be a “can do” person. A keen interest in television, a passion for running events and all things Melbourne is a must. From time to time, you will be required to work out-of-hours and at weekends.

Publicity Assistant

TEN Sydney has an exciting opportunity for a Publicity Assistant to work within the Publicity department in a fixed term contract for approximately 12 months.
