Seven is looking for a Studio Dresser who will work with the Production Designer and Junior Art Directors on studio requirements. This role will work closely with the production to ensure studio dressings are correct and in place.
Liaise with Production Designer on all new set requirements.
Facilitate specific story dressing for studio sets and set changeovers as per brief from Production Designer and Art Directors.
Manage studio timing and schedule for set changeovers during the day.
Manage dressing breakages and repairs – sourcing replacements, doing repairs, outsourcing repairs.
Research and source new set dressings as briefed.
Manage and update studio dressing library for art department and production/writers – hard and digital copies.
Communicate overnight dressing requirements to Night Strikers.
Manage set dressing storage requirements for warehouse and transport.
Collaborate with art department to ensure warehouse is kept in good order.
Manage de-commissioning of set dressing no longer required – storage, sales and donations.
Communicate any issues to art department of any inter-departmental set issues if they arise.
Ensure compliance is in order and up to date for any dressing – i.e. organizing test and tag of lamps and appliances.
Excellent and proven time management skills.
Highly organised and ability to assess and troubleshoot schedule requirements.
Ability to understand, follow brief and communicate effectively.
Work effectively within a team.
Ability to work quickly and with minimal assistance on a daily basis.
Understand the requirements and communicate with other departments on dressing related issues.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other dressing related materials for manufacture or installation of dressing elements.
