Based in Sydney and reporting directly to the Head of Program Development, the Development Producer is responsible for supporting the executive team in the ideation, research & development of all new unscripted programming ideas for the Seven Network.

The Role:
Actively engage in the domestic & international content market in search of new IP, formats and ideas that would fit Channel Seven’s ongoing programming needs
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of content trends (across all mediums), popular culture, world news & fast-changing audience needs
Regularly update executive staff with all relevant industry news & format commissions from both Australia and around the world
Generate, research & help develop original, commercially-viable programming ideas across multiple genres
Write & prepare engaging pitch presentations, decks & international marketing materials for all original new format ideas
Spearhead the production of engaging video “sizzle reels” to “sell” or tease any given idea
Maintain the administration of all development logs, databases & filing systems
Work actively to progress ideas on the development slate – including (but not limited to) conducting detailed research, casting, location scouting.
Actively organize, participate & contribute to regular development & format brainstorm meetings

Have a genuine passion for quality content, ideation & production
Creatively proactive
Enthusiastic about the Seven brand, its offering & its future
An interest in content development across various genres
Audience-centric mindset – understand what motivates the Seven audience & identify market trends to influence potential ideas
Strong copywriting & scriptwriting skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
