Tennis Australia’s Host Broadcast Team are looking for their newest family member, is it you? We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Broadcast Crewing Specialist to join us at Tennis Australia on an 18 month fixed-term contract basis. Reporting directly to the Manager – Broadcast Operations, the Broadcast Crewing Specialist will be responsible for booking, contracting and providing high-level coordination of all freelance production, operational and some technical crew for each Tennis Australia (TA) host broadcast and facilitating the Unit Offices at each event site. This role will contribute to the overall delivery of the host broadcast primarily in the form of crew and unit coordination, crew database maintenance, procurement, contracting, crew/talent rostering and payment, in addition to other unit administration and logistics. Securing expert broadcast crew will ensure Tennis Australia delivers world class host broadcasts at the Australian Open (AO), relevant AO Series events (AOS), Davis & Fed Cups and other International Events, as required. Key responsibilities include:
Crewing services for all Tennis Australia Host Broadcast events
Managing associated procurement, contracting, invoicing and other arrangements
Book, confirm, contract and coordinate freelance and contractor personnel, maintaining the centralised and fully searchable host broadcast crew database
Coordinate detailed crew spreadsheets and documenting requirements for crew accreditation, meal allowances, uniforms, parking, ground transportation, accommodation and per diems. Develop and publish dedicated broadcast crewing and production manuals for each event. Lead the Unit Manager tournament teams, including integration with wider host broadcast operations. Coordinate appropriate training for the host broadcast crewing team, including ongoing supervision, task allocation, daily management and post event reporting. Document any requirements for consumables, stationery, petty cash and/or other crewing function requirements at each event site.
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related broadcast role focused on crewing, production management/coordination or similar. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge and attributes:
Excellent organisational, communication skills and exceptional problem solving ability
Strong focus on contracting, invoicing and management of large volume communications. Experience in large scale sporting/broadcast events and demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment with conflicting tasks and crew. Knowledge of the broadcast industry domestically and internationally. Strong negotiation, budget coordination and administration skills with high attention to detail. Ability to manage large numbers of tournament staff, crew and talent. Highly developed computer literacy with experience in the use of databases and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook). Ability to plan work programs, prioritise and meet deadlines with a high level of attention to detail
