Production Manager and Sponsor Liaison (Permanent full-time position)
This role is to manage the production of an outdoor/adventure factual television series as well as a wide range of sponsor-related web videos and marketing deliverables that are related to the show. In addition to coordinating the efforts of the production team this person will be the primary point of
contact for sponsors of the TV show and consequently it is essential that they possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have a highly professional approach to dealing with sponsors. The applicant must have had a minimum of five years experience in the Television Industry and
tertiary training in this or a related field would be highly desirable. You will be joining a highly experienced production team as part of a growing company with a diverse production slate for a long-standing client base.
This position is answerable to the Executive Producers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To research story ideas, locations and manage the pre-production of the TV show.
• To manage all aspects of the post-production workflow of the TV show and related videos.
• Liaise with the sponsors, executive producers, producers and other production staff.
• Implement the digital media components of sponsor agreements.
• Provide production support to the producer/editors and the production team.
• Handle delivery of post-production materials to meet deadlines.
• Provide support and materials to assist with social and digital marketing activities.
• Assist with managing post-production budgets, advising on workflow and driving efficiency.
The applicant should possess clear and effective communication skills. They should have a highly
flexible disposition with the ability to problem solve new challenges. The ability to communicate
professionally and relate well with clients or sponsors is critical.
The applicant must be highly motivated and willing to take initiative in solving problems,
contributing ideas, and providing support to all members of the production team. Enthusiasm and
aptitude should be complimented by a working understanding of the television production process,
and a strong commitment to collaboration and working effectively as part of a production team.
A demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead the day to day activities of the production team as
well as improving systems and workflows to drive efficiency and improve outcomes is important.
Experience in marketing will be viewed favourably.
INCOME: To be negotiated subject to experience.
(Indicative: $55k – $65k pa + super)
Pre Production
• Assist the Producer with researching story ideas and planning location filming
• Help find locations and contributors and obtain filming permits and relevant releases
• Create and manage the shooting schedule
• Compile the location crew documents
• Write basic script prompts for openers & closers
• Provide support to the crew throughout the shoot and assist with trouble shooting –
organizing new locations, providing phone support, ordering replacement equipment etc
Post Production
• Coordinate the post production schedule – arrange the edit schedule, graphics creation,
voiceover recording and audio post production
• Assist the Producer to plan out the episodes
• Research and suggest relevant key facts and information for show graphics
• Assemble a graphics brief for each episode – including script, file locations, description
• Coordinate the creation of weekly Video Extras for online
Sponsor related
• Act as the first point of call for sponsors
• Produce sponsor media kits – find or create images and compile the terms of use
• Produce sponsor product videos and exclusive webisode content
• Liaise with sponsors and assist them with leveraging value from their sponsorship
• Create an edit schedule for sponsor videos and coordinate post-production
• Ensure that all sponsor deliverables are completed and management fulfillment checklists
• Create a yearly calendar for the show and related activities
• Provide support to the marketing team by delivering content ideas and providing images for
social media platforms and EDM strategy
• Manage the post-production budget allocations and track production costs
• Provide input and advice on workflow and help drive efficiency
