About the Role
Are you an energetic, highly motivated and multi-skilled TV current affairs producer? This is a great initial 6 month opportunity to join ABC Current Affairs developing a new weekly program hosted by Stan Grant.
You will play a crucial part in this collaborative unit developing an exciting, new weekly program for ABC across all platforms. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will:
Produce excellent stories covering wide range of subjects – from the personal, to local, to national through to international
Identify strong original stories for our program and guide them from initial stages to final delivery.
Assist in the production of same-day stories, researching talent, conducting interviews, selecting grabs, suggesting and shooting sequences.
Working together with your colleagues and actively contribute in the team production of long term projects.

Bring your depth television production experience and passion to make a difference. We are looking for someone who will have a commitment to editorial quality, and to producing dynamic and engaging news content that reflects the diversity of views and the wide cultural diversity of Australian society.
High-level experience in digital news, ideally working in a cross-platform filing environment.
High level research, field production and post production skills.
A strong grasp of social, political and economic issues with excellent contacts.
Experience in shooting video desirable.
Excellent communication skills. Able to work in a very small team and fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
You’ll have an open and collaborative approach as well as a genuine enthusiasm for sharing information, ideas and learning with colleagues.

Salary: $73K – $87K p.a. + choice of 15.4% super
